We are joined this week by the third-generation reggae ambassador and rising star, Jemere Morgan. The son of Gramps Morgan of the legendary Morgan Heritage, Jemere has been making some serious moves in the last few years within the reggae industry and just dropped his debut album, “Transition”, on January 6. He speaks with us about this album and about growing up within a royal family of reggae, the Morgans, among other topics. Alongside J Boog and Jo Mersa Marley, Jemere will be performing live on Feb. 4 at Higher Ground in Burlington, Vermont. So, in the spirit, we pay tribute to this great family by playing some of the best tunes from all three generations. This week’s prescription of musical medicine includes tunes from Morgan Heritage, Denroy Morgan, Jemere Morgan, Agent Sasco, J Boog, House of Shem, Alborosie, Randy Valentine, Exco Levi and Addis Pablo. Tonight we are blissed to have several special guests join us for our journey. Nat King, a rising conscious star from Calabar, Nigeria, joins us and expounds on his life’s mission to bring forth a healing for the people through music. Next, Reverend Stanley from Onyx FM and the Revival Academy School (R.A.S.) comes on and fills us in on the works going on at the school this upcoming year. To support the school’s efforts of providing a quality education for youths of Calabar who cannot afford to pay for public primary school (many of whom are orphans), we are currently collecting donations. Any amount is MUCH appreciated and all funds will go directly to pay for student’s books, sandals, laptop computers and other basic supplies. If you are so blessed to be able to donate (even a little bit), please click this button and, on behalf of the youths, we give so much thanks in advance:
