Greetings and Happy New Year, family! We’re going to start it off right this year, honoring 3 of the greatest to ever grace the stage within the reggae genre – Bob Marley (King of Reggae), Dennis Brown (Crown Prince) and Garnett Silk (Archangel). These are some heavy vibes and truly healing indeed. Hold this one, family… One love.
This week’s show is a special tribute to Rainford Hugh Perry, better known to the world as Lee “Scratch” Perry. A true creation stepper, he created a unique sound and vibration that could never be duplicated, and itinued his musical creations well into his 80s – in fact, right up until his last day on earth. So, tonight we pay tribute to this mystic of our time the best way we know how – through word, sound and power! All tunes this week are Lee Perry productions and include many of his own dubs, as well as vocal tunes from artists like The Heptones, The Congos, Jr. Murvin, Max Romeo, Brent Dowe, Junior Byles, Watty Burnett, Bob Marley and the Wailers, The Gatherers, The Twin Roots, Mike Brooks, Errol Walker, Subatomic Sound System and Prince Jazzbo. Long live Scratch!
This week we are honored to have with us Winston “Pipe” Matthews, lead singer of the legendary Wailing Souls, for our special guest. We play nothing but some of the best tunes from the Wailing Souls leading up the interview, when Pipe, in his cool and collect manner, drops so many jewels about coming up in Trenchtown, forming the Wailing Souls with his lifetime music partner “Bread”, and all their journeys up to today. This is a special show, family, so fulljoy and hold the vibe. Big up Wailing Souls, big up all Jah Works Radio family and R.I.P. to the legend Toots Hibbert! One love…
We start this week’s show off celebrating the life and work of the late, great Bob Andy (1944-2020). Lots of crucial classics from this ancestor set the stage for more powerful tunes coming in throughout the show from artists like Marcia Griffiths, Cutty Ranks, Jackie Brown, Freddie McGregor, Garnett Silk, Bob Marley and The Wailers, Peter Tosh, Buju Banton and Morgan Heritage, Chezidek, Jah9 and Chronixx. Much love, health and strength to the family worlwide…

Greetings, family! This week is a special broadcast, featuring some of the hottest tunes around and an exclusive interview with Reverend Stanley and the youths of the Revival Academy School in Calabar, Nigeria. We have partnered with this school now for several years and are honored to continue this project. Listen closely to these youths and you will be sure to hear genius. We are joined by 3 graduates of the school and 4 current students, who all share excellent insights into the (Jah) works going on at this amazing education center. We even get treated to a couple tunes as the youths sing together to celebrate the Christmas season. We are collecting donations for this school and truly give infinite thanks to all who can contribute (no matter how large or small the amount).
