This week we are VERY pleased to have the all time legend and captain of the big ship, Mr. Freddie McGregor, as our special guest.  Before the interview, we spin a roots set including tunes from Freddie McGregor himself, Dennis Brown, Gregory Isaacs, Sugar Minott, Cornell Campbell, Johnny Clarke, Sylford Walker, The Impact All Stars, U Brown, Rod Taylor, Jr. Reid, Noel Ellis and Barrington Levy.  Next up we sit down and have a nice conversation with our special guest, Freddie McGregor.  During the interview, we discuss how he got started at age 7 at Studio One, the story behind the “big ship”, his new album “Di Captain”, his upcoming world tour, and much more.  After this, we do a LARGE Freddie McGregor set with big tunes like “Love within the music”, “Wine of Violence”, “Rootsman Skanking”, “Thank you lord”, “Jah will bless you” and “Equal Rights” off his new album “Di Captain”.  During the remainder of the show, we play music from artists lik Luciano, Prezident Brown, Donna Marie, Earl 16, Etana, Maxi Priest and more.  One love to the family until next time…

This very mystical show starts out with the sounds I recorded in Caral, Peru, an ancient 5000 year old city full of pyramids, temples, and POWERFUL vibes.  Starting out the show, we mix these sounds with some Nyabinghi vibes from Count Ossie and the Mystic Revelation of Rastafari.  During the remainder of the show we meditate with music from Midnite, Congo Ashanti Roy and Pura Vida, The Maytones, Ta Teasha and the Wailers, Enos McLeod, Errol Holt, Junior Delahaye, Wayne Jarrett, Freddie McGregor, Kabaka Pyramid, Ziggi Recado, Ras Batch, Nature, Norris Man, Sadiki, Luciano, Kirk Davis, Morgan Heritage, Beres Hammond, Bob Marley, Cocoa Tea, Teddy Afro and much more.  Many blessings as we trod along this road together…

Jah Works Radio 1/20/13

Greetings family and welcome to the first edition of 2013.  We are very pleased to bring you this special edition as the Ifficial kickoff of the new era of love and light.  Just back from an extended trip to Peru, there was much inspiration and meditation for this show.  We start off running new tunes from late 2012 and even some brand new tracks from 2013.  During this set, we feature artists like Kabaka Pyramid, Tarrus Riley, Chronixx, Tilibop, Jah Sun and J Boog, Jah Vinci, Sophia Squire, Chris Martin and Freddie McGregor.  Next up we get into some real roots music from Freddie McGregor, the Heptones, U Brown, Delroy Wilson, Barry Brown, John Holt, Eek A Mouse, Frankie Paul, Horace Andy, The Black Survivors, Burning Spear, Culture, and the Congos.  The vibes stay strong from here on out and include music from Midnite’s new release “Free Indeed”, amongst many other boomshots.  Give thanks for everyone tuning in and also any donations to the show.  Blessed love.

Jah Works Radio 12/7/12

We get started this week running some tunes from the mid 2000s, starting with I Wayne, Luciano and Richie Spice on the Hard Times Riddim, Daweh Congo, Luciano and Josey Wales, Jr Kelly, Jah Mason, Capleton and Anthony Red Rose.  Next up we check out some new tunes from Jr Holt, Gyptian, Anuhea and Tarrus Riley, Etana, Beres Hammond, Djama Keita, Sizzla, Gappy Ranks, Pressure and Winstrong.  Following a roots and early dancehall set featuring artists like Dennis Brown, Freddie McGregor, Boom Back and The Viceroys, we get into what ended up being the most crucial set, in my opinion, of the night.  This next set had a serious spiritual vibe, and started with The Wailer’s beautiful “Hallelujah Time” with Bunny Wailer on lead vocals and forwarded with Garnett Silk, Cocoa Tea, Sanchez, Beres Hammond and Samantha Strachan, Bingiman, Kehv, Yvad, Duane Stephenson and more.  UPFUL vibes this week – not to be missed.  One love to the family…
