Jah Works Radio 7/8/11

Starting off the show we listen to a couple tracks off of Alborosie’s new album, 2 Times Revolution.  Other new tunes this week come in from Stevie Face, Ricardo Clarke, Sizzla, Gappy Ranks and Delly Ranx.  Plenty of roots selections this week, featuring Freddie McKay, Barry Brown, Mikey Dread, Earth & Stone, and many more.  Also included in this weeks show is some very powerful and unique word, sound and power from Benjamin Zephaniah, Tiken Jah Fakoly, Midnite, and Mumia Abu Jamal.   Upful vibes.

Jah Works Radio 7/1/11 with Rootz Underground

This weeks show gets kicked off with an all-star singers set, including tunes from Don Carlos, Dennis Brown, Barrington Levy and Michael Palmer.  Next up we hear from Alborosie and Camille, followed by Pressure and Konshens riding the Bonafide Riddim.  Soon after, we catch up with Rootz Underground in an interview, and discuss their upcoming west coast tour, their history as a group, and the Rootz ReLeaf Project.  More information about this project and the group can be found at www.rootzunderground.com.  Pure upliftment continues for the rest of the show – so nice that we couldn’t stop at just 2 hours.  Give thanks.

Jah Works Radio 2/24/11 with Barrington Levy

Barrington Levy joins us as the special guest this week, so we get kicked off with some of his classics, including My Bible, Englishman, and Dances are changing.  After the interview, we check out his new tune Gangsters, leading us into more new music from Etana, Gyptian and Lukie D.  Next we get into a gospel reggae set, with tunes from Sherwin Gardner, Eddie Neblett, Positive, and Jason Mighty.  Closing out the show are some especially dread tunes from Luciano and Osmond Collins.  Check the gospel vibe of this show – this is what I love about reggae music!  Come see Barrington Levy alongside Mighty Mystic this Sunday night (2/27) at Club Metronome in Burlington.
